Chulalongkorn x Srisawan Hospital: “Caring for Strong Thai Workers”

Nationwide Labor Day 2025 Health Check Event at Siam Square

On May 1, 2025, Srisawan Hospital, in collaboration with Chulalongkorn, organized the event “Chulalongkorn x Srisawan Hospital: Caring for Strong Thai Workers” at Siam Square to celebrate National Labor Day and express gratitude to Thailand’s labor force—the driving force of the nation. The event received widespread support from governmental, private, academic sectors, and student volunteers from Chulalongkorn University.

Free Comprehensive Health Screenings for Workers
The event offered a wide range of free health screenings, including complete blood count (CBC), blood sugar and lipid levels, liver and kidney function tests, breast examinations by female specialists, eye exams, and dental check-ups. In addition, self-collection HPV test kits for cervical cancer screening were distributed, along with medical consultations provided by doctors and nurses from Srisawan Hospital.

Lifesaving Demonstrations Draw Crowds
One of the event highlights was a public demonstration on basic first aid—specifically the Heimlich Maneuver—for emergency choking situations. Tailored to vulnerable groups such as infants, young children, pregnant women, and individuals living alone, the demonstration offered practical, hands-on knowledge to help participants act quickly in real-life emergencies.

Leadership Presence and Community Spirit
The event was honored by the presence of Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, who delivered the opening speech alongside senior executives from both Chulalongkorn University and Srisawan Hospital.

The atmosphere was further enriched by the enthusiastic participation of student volunteers from Chulalongkorn, who supported logistics and shared health information with attendees. Celebrity guests from Channel 7HD added a festive touch with stage performances, games, photo opportunities, and prize giveaways, bringing joy and engagement to workers and families alike.

Srisawan Hospital's Commitment to Health Equity
Dr. Varis Vimolchalao, Chief Operating Officer of Srisawan Hospital, stated:

“The health of our labor force is the foundation of national progress. We are proud to play a role in supporting those who power Thailand’s development. Our collaboration with Chulalongkorn University represents the synergy between academic excellence and healthcare service—delivering tangible benefits to the people.”

This initiative reflects Srisawan Hospital’s mission, “Nurturing Value for Life,” and its commitment to proactive health promotion and sustainable quality of life for all sectors of society.
